What Is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral therapy (also called CST or cranial osteopathy) is a method of complementary and alternative medicine used by craniosacral therapists, physical therapists, massage therapists, naturopaths, and osteopaths. A craniosacral therapy session involves the therapist placing their hands on the patients head, neck, low back, and abdomen, which allows them to tune into the craniosacral system and assess how the body is functioning.  By gently working with the spine, the skull and its cranial sutures, diaphragms, and fascia, the restrictions of nerve passages are eased, the movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the spinal cord can be optimized, and misaligned bones are restored to their proper position and function.
